Iconic singer played many memorable shows in Toronto
David Bowie Forever.
That's the message painted in huge letters along Queen Street West by street artist Victor Fraser, one of many Torontonians mourning the British musical icon's death on Monday.
"The planet mourns the loss of an incredible, incredible man," Fraser told CBC News near his sidewalk painting on one of Toronto's most musical streets.
Bowie died "peacefully" Monday and was surrounded by family, said a written statement on the legendary musician's social media accounts.
