Students at Technical Vocational High School in Winnipeg's West End hope to fill a school bus with canned goods and other non-perishable goods today.
All the items will be used in Christmas Cheer Board hampers. Last year the high school raised enough food for 21 families, all with students who attend Tec Voc.
Organizers hope to collect enough food to deliver Christmas hampers to 30 families this year.

"Whether we know it or not, we could be sitting beside someone that we can help," said Angelica Guevarra, student co-chair of the Youth in Philanthropy Project. The school takes part in a number of different charities over the holidays.
"Every one of us is really passionate about giving back, and we know that everything that gets donated is coming back to the students in our school," she said.
Anyone can help the students reach their goal from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Students dressed in Tec Voc Hornets jerseys will collect food to fill a school bus parked at Wall Street and Notre Dame Avenue.
