Gloria Macarenko
Long time CBC News host Gloria Macarenko takes the host chair on Metro Vancouver's afternoon show On The Coast, where she explores the day's news and local communities, and goes in-depth with hyper-local stories.
Gloria is also host of CBC Television's Our Vancouver, a current affairs television show, as well as The Story from Here, a national Radio One show that brings Canadians the most lively and intriguing interviews from across the country.
Lisa Christiansen
Lisa Christiansen is the traffic reporter and all-around music guru for On The Coast. Originally from White Rock, Lisa has called the Lower Mainland home since birth. Lisa has been with the CBC since 2000 after spending time in the local wilds of community news, freelancing and at CBC Radio 3. Lisa aims to help you get home quickly and in an accident-free and entertaining way.
Lisa has been recognized for her work at CBC Radio 3 with Webby Awards and New York Festival Awards.
When she's not keeping Metro Vancouver up to date on traffic, Lisa can be found co-hosting the podcast Pop This, listening to good metal and bad pop as well as keeping up on Netflix.
Robert Zimmerman
Robert Zimmerman is the newsreader for On The Coast. Originally from Vernon, Robert has called Vancouver home since 1987. He's a graduate of BCIT's Broadcast Journalism Program.
Robert has been with the CBC since 2004. He has a passion for stories of all shapes and sizes: from big headline stories of the day to the smaller stories that help communities get to know themselves and their neighbours.
Robert was part of the CBC team that won an RTNDA (Radio Television News Directors Association of Canada) Award for a series called Dirty Dollars.
When he's not keeping Metro Vancouver up to date on the latest news, Robert can be found playing hockey, tennis and snowboarding with his son.
