Shooting happened just metres away from site of 2 homicides earlier this year
A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital in serious condition after being shot multiple times on Sunday night just metres away from the highrise apartment buildings where two young men were killed earlier this year.
It happened on the 2000-block of Arrowsmith Drive, off Jasmine Crescent in the Beacon Hill South neighbourhood, at about 9:30 p.m.
The man was shot in the back, chest and legs, police said. He was listed in stable condition Sunday night, paramedics said.
Police said surveillance video is helping the investigation.
In April, 18-year-old Connor Stevenson was stabbed to death in the stairwell of one of the two highrise apartments buildings on Jasmine Crescent.
And in September, 17-year-old Issaiah Clachar was stabbed to death on Jasmine Crescent, just steps away from the buildings.
The Sunday night shooting happened near a lowrise apartment building just metres away from the highrise buildings, not far from Gloucester High School.
The guns and gangs unit is investigating Sunday night's shooting with help from the east district.
