Last spring, the Nova Scotia Liberal government announced cuts to the province's film tax credit. Critics said the move would effectively drive most productions away from the province.
In his tweet, Torrens — best known for hosting Street Cents, his talk show Jonovision and for playing J-Roc on Trailer Park Boys — said he planned to use Aeroplan points for the tickets.
The offer immediately garnered a ton of positive reaction on social media.
