Calgary police arrest Bridgeland carjacking suspect who pulled air gun on woman

Suspect caught by the canine unit after crashing car into a fence
One man is in custody after a carjacking in the northeast community of Bridgeland after a woman was accosted with what appeared to be a weapon, police say.
The woman reported her car was stolen after a man confronted her just before midnight on Wednesday in the 800 block of First Avenue N.E., police say.

The vehicle was eventually spotted in the northwest by the HAWC helicopter in the area of Bergen Crescent and Bermuda Drive.
The suspect got the vehicle stuck in a fence and tried to make a run for it, but was caught by the canine unit.
Police say the gun turned out to be an airsoft pistol and the woman was not hurt.
The suspect is facing numerous charges.
