It was given top marks in the Vintage Cheddar category and named one of the top 16 cheeses in the world.
"To receive this award is incredible," said Cows cheesemaker Armand Bernard. "It's a real honour to have won World's Best Vintage Cheddar, especially when you consider the number of entries coming from all over the world."
Cows says its clothbound cheddar is made with Island dairy milk, wrapped in cheesecloth and aged for 12 to 18 months under carefully-monitored temperature and humidity.
The very top award went to a blue cheese called Bath Blue from Bath Soft Cheese in England.
