5 aspiring rural bullfighters fight to realize their dreams in a time of changing attitudes
Canadian-Colombian filmmaker Pablo Alvarez-Mesa talks about the premiere of his film Nuestro Monte Luna, which features 5 aspiring bullfighters in rural Colombia. The film follows the young boys as they fight to realize their dream of becoming local heroes in the face of societal pressures to put an end to the longstanding tradition. Do they give in and quit, or do they continue chasing the only way out of an impoverished past? Interrupt This Program caught up with Pablo during his screening at the Festival Ambulante in Medellín.
