A 58-year-old woman is missing from The Pas, Man.
Family says Josephine Martin was last seen on Nov. 15 near the town's Giant Tiger, where she and her friends regularly gather.
Martin's daughter, Tanya Martin, told CBC News her mother is battling issues related to addiction, and it is unusual for her to have no communication with family.
"She always contacts, or somebody sees her, a family member sees her. It's very rare to have … no sighting of her," she said.
Since the women don't live in the same town, the last time Tanya saw her mother was on Thanksgiving, although she checks in with family every day.
"She stayed with us all weekend when we were out there visiting her in Moose lake," she said.
"She was happy."
Tanya is only one of Josephine's seven children and aside from reporting her missing to RCMP, she has been actively searching for her mother.
"I drove around the uptown area of The Pas and I've been asking people when was the last time they seen her, what she was wearing and where they think she might have went," she said, adding Martin's friends and other family are worried, too.
"I know one of her brothers was searching a couple of days ago. Her sisters keep coming into The Pas, asking questions and looking around her area."
Martin has never gone missing before.
"She is very friendly, she is a very friendly person. She is easy to talk to. She has so many friends here. She is not the type to go somewhere without talking to anybody or telling anybody," Tanya said.
Martin is described at five feet, six inches tall with short hair. She is missing the top of her left ear, and was last seen
wearing a black and burgundy checkered jacket.
The family is planning an extensive search of The Pas in the coming days.
