When Brent Poulton and his wife couldn't find good Christmas sweaters for dogs to sell in their pet food store in Chilliwack, they began making their own.
But then they thought the dogs' owners might want a sweater as well.
"We decided that, if we're going to be making dog sweaters for Christmas it makes sense to have matching people versions, because what's better than matching your dog at Christmas?" said Poulton, whose store Jenny's Pet Food and Supplies(external link) is named after his pug Jenny.
Last year Poulton supplied his matching dog-and-owner Christmas sweaters wholesale to 35 stores around the province, and expects that number will be double by the end of this season.

The images on the sweaters, which can be found on the website Funky Tails(external link), include a dog ice-skating with a snowman, and a dog with its head stuck in a turkey.
"Everyone likes to have a bit of fun at Christmas, and what's more fun than dressing up in an ugly Christmas sweater — with your dog?"
In the video above Poulton introduces CBC host Gloria Macarenko to his pug Jenny, and shows some of his ugly Christmas sweaters.
