Dennis Oland's defence is scheduled to begin presenting its case on Thursday in the second-degree murder trial.
The Crown rested its case against the son of businessman Richard Oland on Wednesday.
Richard Oland was found lying face down in a pool of blood in his Saint John officer on July 7, 2011.
His son Dennis Oland is the last known person to see him alive. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder.
