Cocaine, heroin and submachine guns among items found by police

Police arrested nine people and seized guns, drugs and cash while executing search warrants in Toronto and Vaughan on Thursday.
Police seized two 9-mm automatic submachine guns, an M84 submachine gun, two .45-calibre pistols, a .40-calibre pistol, and numerous rounds of ammunition.
Also seized were 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 1.8 kilograms of heroin, 1.3 kilograms of marijuana, 1.1 kilograms of MDMA, one kilogram of methamphetamine, five kilograms of hashish and 0.5 kilograms of ecstasy, police said.
Police did not say how much cash was seized or how many locations were raided. The raids were part of an investigation led by the Toronto Police Service's Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force.
Police arrested Buu Giang, 39, Thang Mach, 44, Manh Nguyen, 28, and Chieu Pham, 41, of Toronto, as well as Tin Lieu, 30, Michael Trinh, 38, and Wayne Trinh, 39, of Vaughan, according to a statement issued Friday.
All nine were due in court at Old City Hall on Friday. Toronto police would not comment on what charges they face.
