Fan-led U.K. campaign gains steam as American group returns home
Duran Duran are joining the fans Eagles of Death Metal by supporting the group with their wallets.
British fans have launched a campaign to make Eagles of Death Metal's cover version of Duran Duran's Save A Prayer number one on the UK music charts, as a show of support after the attacks at the band's show in Paris on Friday.
About 1,500 people were at the concert hall Friday evening for a show by the American rock band.
It was the scene of the Paris attacks' worst carnage, where hostages were held and 89 people were killed.
Duran Duran singer Simon LeBon tweets his band will donate all their proceeds from the sale of the song.
He says they are "considering options that are useful, peaceful and uniting."
The members of Eagles of Death Metal, now back in California, issued a statement via the band's Facebook page Wednesday saying they were "still trying to come to terms with what happened" and that "all EODM shows are on hold until further notice."
