Suspect taken into custody after being found sleeping in another person's vehicle
Red Deer RCMP have charged a man who allegedly stole a truck that had two sleeping children in the back.
The man had been wanted since Thursday when police allege he jumped into a pickup truck that had been left running and drove off, not realizing a one-year-old girl and three-year-old girl were in the back seat.
The children were located a short time later, unharmed.

The truck was recovered the next day.
Police identified the suspect, issued a warrant for his arrest, and finally located him Tuesday morning when a Red Deer resident called RCMP to complain about a strange man sleeping in their car.
The man turned out to be the suspect, who was arrested.
The 28-year-old has been charged with theft over $5,000, child abandonment, failure to comply with recognizance, mischief over $5,000 and resisting a peace officer. He was expected to make his first court appearance Wednesday morning.
