Johnny O is a YouTube star(external link) on the rise. He says he doesn't dance, but we bet he watches — because if you spend any time on YouTube, you're a dance fan.
From "The Nae Nae" to "The Harlem Shake," to vintage virality like the "Evolution of Dance," the site's most shareable clips so frequently feature mind-blowing (or just hilarious) moves that you'd wonder why more of us don't, say, buy tickets to the ballet. Or start a local b-boy posse.
Whatever our young YouTube phenom says about his dance ability, the Oakville-raised/Los Angeles-based pre-teen's been known to take lessons. They come in handy when you're making music videos for Justin Bieber covers — and there are half a million YouTube subscribers following your every upload.
Johnny's a part of CBC's partnership with some of Canada's best names on YouTube, the Fullscreen Creator Network(external link). Since he probably spends more time on YouTube than anyone, CBC Arts asked him to review a playlist of our favourite dance clips — everything from classical ballet, to Michael Jackson to however you'd describe this.
