'Consensual fight' interrupted by hatchet attack at downtown apartment

One man sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

An argument between two men escalated to a "consensual fight" in a common area at a downtown apartment on Saturday night.
Then, a third man came out of his apartment and struck one of them with a hatchet, police say.
The attacker also put two witnesses to the fight in headlocks, according to police. They got free and called police.
Police arrested a 52-year-old man and charged him with assault. They used a search warrant to retrieve the hatchet.
The victim of the hatchet attack was treated at hospital for a laceration to the head.
