King tides and winter storm surges a double threat to Vancouver's flood susceptible low lying areas
King tides, storm surges and rising sea levels are all a flood threat to Vancouver's low lying areas, especially in the winter.
Today in what's become an annual event city crews were dispatched to fill and stack thousands of sandbags along the Marine Drive near Locarno Beach.
The city says it's looking at more permanent options, like raised sidewalks, to help fight flooding.
