Three people are in custody after Calgary police and EMS responded to reports of gunfire on Madeira Road in the city's northeast.
One man was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.
A resident, who didn't want to be identified, said she heard five gunshots at about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
She says it "was terrifying to have this happen" in her community.
A dark SUV left the scene at Madeira Road and was located shortly after along with another vehicle parked side-by-side at a nearby Calgary Co-op grocery story.
Police followed those two vehicles and took one man into custody nearby.
Two other men were taken into custody after being located by police helicopter at another location near Marlborough Drive.
