Close to 800 homes and businesses in the St-Michel neighbourhood were left in the dark and hundreds of homes were evacuated yesterday, after a 48-inch pipe ruptured early in the morning.
Running water and power has since been restored.
Commuters and pedestrians are still being urged to avoid the corner of Pie-IX Boulevard and Villeray Street.
Crews are working to repair the water main, leaving the intersection completely closed until Monday.
