The second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland will continue Thursday morning in Saint John with the testimony of Const. Stephen Davidson.
Davidson, a 12-year veteran who had only joined the major crime unit a few days earlier and eventually became its lead investigator, interviewed Dennis Oland the day his father, Richard Oland's body was found face down in a pool of blood in his uptown investment firm office.
The interview, which was shown to the jury this week, showed Davidson grilling Dennis Oland about his account of events, including times, the routes he took, where he parked his car and any stops he made.

During the interview Davidson asked Oland if he could think of anyone else who would "have an interest" in killing his father. "Who would benefit from that the most?"

"I think he's pissed a lot of people off, but not to that point where someone would, you know, would want to … want to kill somebody," said Oland.
