The second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland continues Friday morning in Saint John where RCMP Sgt. Brian Wentzell will be back on the stand.
Wentzell, who is an expert in blood stains, testified on Thursday saying he arrived at the crime scene on July 11, 2011 — four days after the prominent businessman's bludgeoned body was discovered.
Richard Oland, 69, suffered 45 sharp and blunt force injuries to his head, neck and hands, the court has heard.
Dennis Oland, 47, who was the last known person to see his father alive and has pleaded non-guilty in the death of his father.
Wentzell said there was "a lot of alteration to the blood," due to the timeframe. It was dry and "flaking upward" and "different than if I had been there initially."
