The second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland continues Wednesday morning in Saint John.
Retired Saint John Police Officer Mike King will be back on the stand after the court learned Tuesday that Deputy Chief Glen McCloskey, who was an inspector at the time, told King he didn't "have to" tell anyone that McCloskey went into the bloody office to observe the body.
King said his conversation with McCloskey occurred either before or during Oland's preliminary inquiry last year — about three years after Oland was killed.
Dennis Oland, 47, who was the last known person to see his father alive during a meeting at his office at 52 Canterbury St., the night before, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.
