Calgary police are investigating after a body was discovered in the city's southeast early this morning.
Police were called to the 2600 block of 43rd Street S.E. after a resident reported a suspicious person just before 6 a.m. MT.
Officers discovered a body when they arrived.
Steven Ouellette, who lives in the area, said he heard "four or five pops" around 1:30 a.m. MT and believes it was gunshots, but it's unclear if that was related to the death.
Police have not released any details about the investigation so far and have not deemed the death a homicide, describing it only as suspicious.
