The supermoon did not go unnoticed in Windsor-Essex last night.
Anyone taking a peek at social media today will see pictures of the striking local images captured in the region.
But there was an extra treat in store for stargazers — the supermoon was coinciding with a total lunar eclipse.
And while there are many pictures to look at, anyone who missed seeing it in real life will have to wait a while to see another similar event.
The Canadian Press reports that the next total lunar eclipse won't occur until 2018. And the next one involving a supermoon isn't going to happen until 2033.
