Police say the five-pound bag of potatoes was bought at the end of August
A nail has been found in a bag of potatoes bought from a Bedford grocery store, according to Halifax Regional Police.
Police say at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Bedford Superstore manager reported the nail. It had been found by a customer who'd bought a five-pound bag at the end of August.
The manager has the remaining potatoes, too.
Police say no injuries have been reported.
This is not the first potato tampering incident in the Halifax area. Anyone who finds foreign metal objects in potatoes are asked to contact police and to not throw anything out.
