The jury in the second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland is expected to prepare for a graphic evidence today.
The trial started Wednesday in Saint John, more than four years after Richard Oland's body was discovered in his uptown office.
The court heard on Wednesday morning that Oland died from 40 blows to the head.
Dennis Oland, 46, pleaded not guilty last week, in the death of his father Richard Oland.
Justice John Walsh, who has been brought in from Miramichi to hear the high-profile case, told the jury he hadn't yet seen the photos, but he warned they will be graphic and likely upsetting.
He urged the jurors to "steel" themselves for the "shock."
