If there's one thing we can say for sure, it's that Deepa Mehta keeps us guessing. The celebrated director behind Water, Midnight's Children and Bollywood/Hollywood is back with a decidedly darker film — complete with ruthless gangsters, guns and explosions.

Mehta joins Shad to discuss Beeba Boys(external link), a bloody mobster story set among Sikh gangs in Vancouver. She explains what attracted her to the violent genre, why the film is "thematically consistent" with her past work, and just how much fun she had directing high-speed chases.
