The Trans-Canada Highway outside of Victoria will be shut for most of the day after an accident this morning sent four people to hospital.
Paramedics say all four hurt were taken to Victoria General Hospital. Two are in critical condition, the other two are in stable condition.
The accident happened just before 9 a.m. PT where Highway 1 intersects with Finlayson Arm Road(external link) in the popular Goldstream Provincial Park(external link).
DriveBC(external link) says Highway 1 is closed in both directions from the park to Shawnigan Lake Road and almost 10 kilometres north of Langford because of the collision.
In order to avoid traffic backed up around the area, officials are asking motorists to use Pacific Marine Route and the Brentwood Bay Ferry.
