Police confirm the homicide remains under investigation
Police in Saskatoon say they've made an arrest after a man was attacked and stabbed to death in his suite on 20th Street last fall.
The lengthy investigation has resulted in manslaughter and homicide charges against Keith Clarence Napope. The 29-year-old made a brief court appearance this morning and has been remanded into custody until early next month.
Police said that it was shortly before midnight last November when officers were called to a multi-unit complex in the 1400 block of 20th Street W. after receiving a call that intruders had entered a suite and attacked a man inside.
When police arrived they found 35-year-old Johnathon Keenatch-Lafond badly injured. He was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later. An autopsy confirmed that Keenatch-Lafond died as a result of a stabbing.
Despite the charges laid today, police confirmed that the deadly incident remains under investigation.
