The 96-year-old locomotive - No. 107 - has been at Fort Edmonton since 1977
One of the best-loved attractions at Fort Edmonton Park is out of commission for now.
The steam locomotive has developed mechanical issues and needs repair, said park spokeswoman Sandra Green.
"The train has experienced overheating in one of its drive axle bearings. It's in the shop and they are going to diagnose what the extent of the problem is. We will make every effort to get that train back on track as quickly as we can."
The 96-year-old locomotive — No. 107 — came to Fort Edmonton in 1977.
It began carrying passengers a year later.
