An intense downpour Monday night was too much for some storm sewers in Regina.
Many neighbourhoods were turned into miniature lakes as rain water filled streets and low lying areas.

Environment Canada noted a severe thunderstorm — capable of producing very strong wind gusts, dime to nickel size hail and heavy rain — rolled through the area around the dinner hour.

Some flights into the Regina airport were diverted and their arrival times were delayed due to the bad weather.

Regina was not the only community to experience the severe weather.
The weather office said thunderstorms and heavy rain rolled across a wide area northwest of the city.
Saskatchewan's southeast corner was also hit with severe weather Monday night.
Heavy rain is also expected on Tuesday, along with strong winds. Environment Canada is predicting another 30 to 40 millimetres of rain by Tuesday night.
