Forks riverwalk reopens after flood debris, mud cleared away

95 cubic metres of material — about 15 dump truck loads — was removed

The Forks' riverwalk, which was under floodwaters for most of the spring, has been cleared and reopened to the public.

Parks Canada has completed its clean-up of the path that runs along The Forks National Historic Site, according to a news release.
A contractor was hired to remove sediment and debris left behind by spring. flooding. Nearly 95 cubic metres of material — about 15 dump truck loads — was removed.
In addition, 220 cubic metres of gravel was brought in and spread on the walkway to replace the gravel washed away by the high water.
