Today is Nunavut Day, marking 22 years since Parliament passed the Nunavut Act, which would bring the territory into being on April 1, 1999.
To showcase the unique territory, CBC North asked Nunavummiut to take a photo of a moment in their day on June 29.
The results were displayed on a media wall as they poured in.
Nunavut means "our land" in Inuktitut, and that's what many photographers opted to show, capturing boating, fishing, ATVing and even flying kites outdoors.
The photos, which include one group of kids holding a Nunavut flag on a trampoline, show that Nunavummiut are very proud of their home.
