The Plateau-Mont-Royal borough is testing out daily parking permits for street parking starting Sept. 1.
The borough council approved the pilot project at a meeting this week.

The new permit will cost $6 and will allow visitors to park in on-street parking normally reserved for residents with permits.
It will apply to the parking areas 19, 55, 57, 74, 75, 90 and 151 in the eastern part of the borough.
In June, the borough introduced monthly parking passes in the same sectors, citing demand from workers in the area.
The monthly pass, which costs $100 plus tax, is valid within one parking sector. The borough capped the monthly permits at 200 per zone.
