Officer calls the theft 'completely unpatriotic behaviour on our national holiday.'
RCMP are looking for a red lawn mower stolen on Canada Day from a backyard in Airdrie, Alta.
A couple was watching the city's parade, not far from their home, when they noticed a man walking down the street with a familiar-looking lawn mower.
"He noted to his wife, 'Oh it looks just like the lawn mower that I have," said Cst. Jason Curtis.
She reminded him that there are lots of red lawn mowers, but when he got home, he discovered his two-year-old lawn mower was gone, said Curtis.
RCMP issued a press release about the stolen lawn mower because it happened on July 1.
"Completely unpatriotic behaviour on our national holiday. It's disappointing," said Cst. Jason Curtis.
Police say the man was between 25 and 35 years old. The couple lives on First Street and the parade started at 10 a.m. Anyone with information can contact Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7267 or Crime Stoppers,
