Eleven-year-old Allexis Siebrecht is recovering and in good spirits after a liver transplant earlier this month.
Allexis underwent surgery at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children just over a week ago, on June 1.
The girl's mom Liz Siebrecht said a wave of peace came over her when her daughter's surgery was completed. Siebrecht said her daughter is doing well.

"She's happy she has her new liver and she's looking forward to getting a new skateboard," said Siebrecht. "She was more concerned about her fish at home ... not being fed."
Allexis will remain in hospital for the next week or so where doctors will keep a close eye on her.
"She is going to need very close attention from the medical and nursing staff while she's in the hospital," said Binita Kamath, a staff liver expert with SickKids in Toronto.
"Following discharge she will have very close monitoring in the outpatient clinic, frequent blood work and adjustments to some of her medications, but overall we expect her to make an excellent recovery."

Doctors told Siebrecht her daughter is in good condition.
"She's in pain but she just says continuously she's happy she has her new liver now," Siebrecht said. "She seems pretty excited and yeah, she just looks forward to being a kid and playing again."
Siebrecht told CBC News that she appreciates everyone's support. She also thanked the family of the anonymous donor for saving Allexis's life.
