Percy has led the Nova Scotia Green Party for six years
The leader of Nova Scotia's Green Party is stepping down.
After six years at the helm of the party, John Percy announced his resignation at the annual general meeting Saturday.
"I have looked in the mirror and I see that something needs to change," he said in a statement to the media.
"I have been grateful for the experience, but age and health concerns now carry the same weight as the issues I address in my position."
Percy says he's dealing with the onset of glaucoma.
"And lord knows, the last thing this province needs is yet another leader with poor vision," he quipped.
The party says it will hold a leadership convention sometime in the next six months.
