Police say they responded to the report around 3 p.m. Monday.
Yarmouth police are investigating a new incident of potato tampering.
RCMP say around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, a citizen of Yarmouth, N.S., reported finding a nail in a potato that came from a ten pound bag bought at Giant Tiger.
The potatoes were turned over to police.
RCMP are asking the public to refrain from throwing out potential cases of potato tampering to aid further investigations.
This new case adds to the numerous other potato tampering cases reported around Nova Scotia. The most recent case occurred Monday, when a worker at the Atlantic Superstore in Halifax was sorting through bags of Farmers Market Russet Potatoes.
