Following months of speculation, a new development in southeast Saskatoon will include a Costco Wholesale store, after all.

The Vancouver-based developer of the Meadows neighbourhood, Arbutus Properties, made the announcement Saturday afternoon. It said Costco would become the anchor store to a retail development in the area called the Meadows Market.
A few months ago, the same developer said it was unlikely the neighbourhood would attract a second Costco store to the city.
The Meadows is being built near the Rosewood neighbourhood, close to the intersection of Highway 16 and Boychuk Drive. It is set to include residential and commercial space.
Construction on the Meadows Market is expected to begin in the summer of 2015, with retailers being included over the next three years.
