Some of the TTC's newest and biggest buses will only be able to transport one bicycle on their front racks, as opposed to two, the transit agency announced Thursday.
The TTC said the Ontario Ministry of Labour ordered the changes due to concerns about sight lines. The changes are intended to "ensure continued safety for TTC operators, customers and all road users."
Among the buses that will only allow one bike are:
  • Articulated buses numbered 9000 to 9152.
  • Nova 40-foot buses numbered 8400 to 8504, which are set to arrive this spring.
The TTC released a picture to show how the racks will be labelled.
Older buses will still be able to carry two bikes.
