Over the past few months we've been slowly revealing many changes to the new q — and today we've got a new plot twist: guest host Fridays.

Our audience responded so well to the diverse slate of talented men and women who took the mic during the transition period. We've decided to make that rich blend a more permanent fixture of the show.

Every Friday, our full-time host Shad will take a breather and we'll give someone else a chance to take the reins — sometimes for a multi-week run.

We start tomorrow with fan favourite Tom Power, a rising star from CBC Radio 2 Morning and host of Deep Roots. During previous stints as q guest host, Tom has delivered wonderful interviews with the likes of Chris Rock, Herbie Hancock, Maria Bamford and Brooke Shields.

(Word to the wise: tomorrow is also Tom's birthday. Forget gifts, just tune in!)
