About the race
PC Jonathan Denis, who served as solicitor general and justice minister in Jim Prentice's cabinet, is seeking his third term as the MLA. The riding has belonged to the Tories since 1971. Denis faces Nicholas Borovsky from the Liberals, Linda Carlson for the Wildrose and the NDP's Brandy Payne.
Division profile
The south-central Calgary riding was redrawn in 2010. It stretches from Anderson Road S.E. in the south to 25th Avenue S.E. and the CP Rail line in the north. It's bordered on the east by the Bow River, although it does include the community of Riverbend on the other side. Macleod Trail is the western boundary, but it does extend to 14th Street in the southwest corner. Large portions of Glenmore Trail and Southland Drive run through this riding, which is home to the Sue Higgins Park and CP's Alyth rail yard.
