After defeating PC incumbent Tony Vandermeer in 2012, NDP MLA Deron Bilous is seeking a second term representing this northeast Edmonton riding.

The riding is bordered on the east by Edmonton city limits, on the west by 66th Street and 50th Street, on the north by 137th Avenue, 144th Avenue and the North Saskatchewan River, and on the south by Yellowhead Trail and the river.

Political history

Over the past three decades, voters in this riding have been represented by the Conservatives, Liberals and New Democrats.
2012: Deron Bilous (NDP) defeated one-term PC MLA Tony Vandermeer
2008: Vandermeer won the riding from former NDP leader Ray Martin by 337 votes
2004: Martin beat incumbent Julius Yankowsky, a Tory who had served the region for more than a decade.
2001: Yankowsky defeated Liberal Bauni Mackay by 1,500 votes.
1997: After crossing to the Tories in 1994, Yankowsky edged out Liberal Johanne Tardiff by 357 votes.
1993: Yankowsky first won as a Liberal and unseated then-two-term NDP incumbent Ed Ewasiuk. Before Ewasiuk, PC Bill Diachuk represented the riding from 1971-86.
