About the race
This riding has existed since 1905, and was dominated by the Conservatives since 1971, except for a NDP win by Stan Woloshyn in 1989.
First elected in 2012, PC MLA Ken Lemke is running again this spring.
Division profile
This riding extends west from Edmonton's city limits along the Yellowhead Highway. Most of its western boundary is lined by the Pembina River, while its southern boundary is the North Saskatchewan River. Its residents come from a mix of towns, villages, acreages and farms, as well as several First Nation reserves. I

2012: Ken Lemke kept the riding in Tory hands by besting Hal Tagg of the Wildrose Party by 1,335 votes
2008: Fred Lindsay (PC) beat Liberal Bill Fraser by 5,915 votes
