More than two weeks after fracturing his pelvis in a snowmobile crash, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson was spotted standing up at a coffee shop in the Glebe Monday afternoon.
Watson declined to do an interview with CBC News, but did say he was undergoing physiotherapy. Though still travelling in a wheelchair, Watson said he has been instructed to stand up to help circulation as part of his recovery plan.
Watson was injured while snowmobiling with other councillors in the rural riding of Osgoode on Feb. 28.
Councillors Mark Taylor and Bob Monette have been filling in as deputy mayors as Watson recovers.
Watson said he was "eager" to return to work but did not have a date set.
