Apartment damaged in Clermont Motel fire

Kensington Fire Department puts out small fire

A woman has found a temporary place to live following a fire in her apartment at the Clermont Motel.
The Kensington Fire Department were called to a fire early Wednesday morning.
Deputy chief Rodney Hickey said the fire department received the call around 2 a.m.
Firefighters began to evacuate the other apartments but realized they didn't have to do so after extinguishing the fire quickly.
"When we arrived on scene, there was a lady pointing us to the apartment where the fire was," said Hickey.
"We found the fire up in the ceiling in the bathroom. The lady knew where the fire was and directed us right to it. We had to pull down the ceiling to get at it and doused it out."
Hickey said he believed the fire started in or around an electrical junction box above the ceiling.
