Indigenous filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin speaks with guest host Piya Chattopadhyay about her latest documentary, Trick or Treaty?
The film details the legacy of the James Bay Treaty, also known as Treaty 9, a controversial agreement between the government and First Nations in Ontario from 1905. Obomsawin discusses the challenges of bringing this story to the screen, and how she views her role as a filmmaker in the on-going struggle for indigenous rights.
