Amanda Knox's dream of studying abroad spun into a nightmare that saw her locked up in an Italian prison, accused of the murder of her roommate. Nearly six years later, it may not be over yet. In her only interview with a Canadian broadcaster, we rebroadcast her discussion with Anna Maria in May.It is a case that captivated Italy, the U.S., the UK and anyone else intrigued by incomprehensible murder.
In 2007, Amanda Knox was accused by Italian authorities of murdering her British roommate, Meredith Kercher.
Last May, in her only Canadian broadcast interview, Amanda Knox spoke to Anna Maria Tremonti about the price she paid for that accusation, about her eventual acquittal -- and about the demand by Italy's top court for her to stand trial again.
Amanda Knox's memoir is called Waiting to Be Heard.
Earlier this month, an Italian court set the date for Amanda Knox's retrial . It's scheduled to begin September 30.

Last Word - Meredith Kercher Music Video
We've been talking today about the Amanda Knox case -- as it's become known -- but it's really the Meredith Kercher case. Victims often fade into the shadows once a trial begins.
During the long ordeal, Meredith's relatives gave news conferences to try to convey their loss. She was taking a course in modern history and political theories at the University of Perugia before she was killed. And shortly before the murder, she appeared as an enigmatic presence in a friend's music video.
For today's Last Word, we aired Some Say by Kristian Leontiou featuring Meredith Kercher. And in the mix you'll also hear the Kercher family speaking at a news conference.
