CBC News Toronto nominated for Canadian Screen Awards

The Canadian Screen Awards announced nominations for the best television of the year on Tuesday, and CBC News Toronto made the list.
CBC's supper hour news program CBC News Toronto with hosts Anne-Marie Mediwake and Dwight Drummond is nominated for Best Newscast and reporter John Lancaster is nominated for Best Reportage, Local.
Also nominated this year in the same category are CBC News: Nova Scotia at 6, Newfoundland and Labrador's CBC News: Here & Now and CTV News Toronto.
The Canadian Screen Awards — a merger of the Gemini Awards and the Genie Awards — are handed about annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
The awards recognize excellence in Canadian television, film and digital productions.
