A Manitoba man who brought a Taser with him to work is facing weapons-related charges.
Oakbank RCMP were called to the Deacon’s Reservoir Aqueduct and Water Treatment Plant on Dec. 5 to investigate reports that an employee had a stun gun on him at the water treatment plant.
Management took the gun away from the 50-year-old male employee and handed it over to police, who then arrested the suspect.
The suspect had brought the Taser with him to work to show coworkers, RCMP said.
He is facing charges for possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace.
The 50-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in a Beausejour, Man. court on Jan. 20, 2015.
